Carrying on from the mid-season cliffhanger, we can't say we're really surprised how this turned out.

The mid-season finale of The Walking Dead continues to provide an uneasy concoction of graphic violence, intense drama, and stupid, stupid bullshit.

The fundamental metaphor of any zombie narrative is the inevitability of death.

And that's why I watch this show. The zombies are an added bonus.

And that's where we really see how the gang has changed.

That was damn near perfect.

Due to an unexpected death from the previous episode, the group decides to get organized and secure the farm.

The situation about what to do with Randall is dividing the survivors.

Rick and Shane come into conflict over the fate of an outsider.

Trapped, Rick, Hershel and Glenn fight to survive against new foes, both dead and alive.

After the destruction of his family, Hershel demands that Rick and his group leave immediately.

The secret of the Walkers in the barn is fully exposed and Shane forces a decision to be made about them.

Revelations begin to come out among the members of the group.

Rick and Shane argue about whether the search for Sophia should end.

The survivors have to deal with a huge walker that has fallen into one of the Greene Family's wells.
