Who has made up her mind to be rid of him while she can (or, more accurately, asked Alaric to make it up for her with his superior vampire skills), and is trying to stick to her guns about at least one of her many toxic relationships. So he invades her dorm room, peppers her cellphone, checks in with all her friends, and reads Alaric the riot act for doing what she asked him to do. Alaric wants to undo it, and is willing to undo it, but only if Elena asks. For some reason, Caroline wants it undone too. Okay, mystery solved there, she wants Elena focused on Damon so she has a shot with Stefan. Who apparently doesn’t want a shot with anybody. All he can think of is Damon’s return to life, which is something that calms him enough that he starts trying to correct some of his many recent dick moves. Damon is so glad to be back he doesn’t seem to resent Stefan giving up on looking for him, or even want to try to kill or compel Alaric for ruining his love life. However, in order to save Damon and Enzo, whom Tripp is planning to drive into Mystic Falls in the Van of Fiery Vampire Death, Stefan and Alaric have to wreck the van, sending all of them skidding into the no-mystic zone. Which means bullet wounds open up for the Salvatores, Enzo is impaled or something, and Alaric is bleeding from a hideous chest wound. Only, this time Alaric has witch Doctor Jo on his team, and as he turns fully human again she keeps him alive with plain old medicine. Alaric is human and free from the vampire curse! Is this his season or what? And after his stoic self-pity session with Jeremy last week, too. Oh, yeah, the doctor is a witch and knew exactly what he and Elena were and liked them anyway. Which is kinda the first good thing that has happened to Elena in awhile (I don’t count Cute Brag, because his days are so numbered). So, some cool things happened this episode, but all the stalking earns demerits. Best line goes to Matt for once, who was “sorry if he didn’t know which vampires are on our no-kill list” at the moment.
