I was hoping that the Veronica Mars movie would spotlight the great things about the show, the core concepts that would inevitably win over a new audience.
Although meant to evoke an earlier era of sci-fi, Oblivion is easily the most forward-looking science-fiction film of the last few years, at least among the big Hollywood productions.
It took some of the best parts of the traditional, established style of the Muppets (breaking the fourth wall, sight gags), but integrated good changes that added a freshness to the characters.
