Okay, for sure, Elena has a point. The moment she ran into Damon’s arms last season was the moment she lost her body to Katherine, she’s been fighting her way back to him ever since; and after dying together in a fiery conflagration last season, he’s the one who didn’t come back.
But it was pretty unlikely they could just run back and forth from the Other Side in the first place, and as it’s all part of what being a vampire is in Mystic Falls, this is just more of Elena sucking at being dead. New verse, same as the first. She can’t handle Damon being gone, so she bullies the witches (why are they still here again?) into giving her delusions, and feeds on the unwitting whenever she gets hungry. When Caroline (who is the only main character who’s ever been any good at being a vampire – how is it that it’s Klaus rather than Elijah who is fixated on her?) finds all this out, she is livid with Elena’s stupidity. Which, let’s face it, she’s too old to get away with any longer. Grow up, Elena, you’re a mess!
In other news, Stefan is trying to leave the past behind, Ric is now a college professor, Tyler is finally serious about college (though I’d have fled anywhere none of the vampires and wolves could ever find me, were I human again), Matt is heading down a law enforcer path, and Jeremy is brooding over Bonnie’s surprise demise. Face it, Jerm, Bonnie will always be smarter than you and only tell you what she thinks you need to know, dead or alive.
But mostly I’m worried about the witches. They walked out on the spell that may have left Damon and Bonnie in limbo. So they just go back to school where the pack of wolves and vamps they just betrayed are calling their new home? They must be really confident in their protective spells.
