It’s a nice moment both narratively and visually for The Strain, allowing director Peter Weller to really shine, despite the dullness of a lackluster script.
And unfortunately, so far in The Strain (11 episodes in to a 13-episode season!!) we’re being teased with classic vampire action, but are being hampered by clichés and characters that just don’t add anything to the story.
With practically no budget, heroes wearing pajamas, along with a dash of rock and roll, writer/ director Ray Dennis Steckler creates one of the oddest entries in the superhero film genre: Rat Pfink a Boo Boo.
The march of history may change the details from 11 to Eleven, but the core element remains; the heist by a team dedicated to pulling off the impossible.
So if you were one of the people who stuck with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. from the beginning, you should be patting yourselves on the back right about now.
Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit has a wide-ranging plot and a teeming cast of characters, but what makes it most impressive is how much restraint and discipline has been brought to the storytelling,
